Professional Statement
The most recent definition of Educational Technology adopted by the Association for Educational Communications and Technology Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT,2008) states that Educational Technology is “the study and ethical practice of facilitating learning and improving performance by creating, using and managing appropriate technological processes and resources” (p.1; Reiser,2012, p.4). I juxtapose this definition and timeline to my personal experiences. I also highlight elements which I believe could be incorporated in the future by instructional designers.
